Dear {FIRSTNAME},
Some of you may know there was another UK marketing meet on this weekend,
I wasn't able to attend due to prior commitments. However by sheer
coincidence my prior commitment was in the same hotel, and I found the
time to pop along and chat with the guy's there over dinner.
Marlon Sanders, who I had never met was there talking to Martin Avis
publisher of kickstartdaily.com
we had short conversation before I had to leave again (still Marlon can
now boast he has met me ) :)
Now why do I bring this up,
if I never actually attended the seminar?
Well in today's
kickstartdaily.com Martin
tells a little piece of Marlon's presentation, and it ties in beautifully
with an announcement I have for you.
First here is what Marlon
had to say (in Martins own words)
Marlon Sander's stood up in
front of 35 eager-to-learn
marketers and gave them his patented one-eyed look.
His long arms and legs took up angles that no sane
person could hold for long and his half Oklahoma half
Texas accent deepened to the point where English ears
struggled to make out individual words.
"What yooz gotta 'member..."
His fingers jabbed randomly towards various terrified
audience members.
"What yooz gotta keep in miynd...
"... is this."
The arms started waving, the mad-professor eyes rolled
out of the room and back again.
"There's oany two things that matter ...
"things is either done, or they ain't done."
The volume increased.
"When sumthin's done you gotta product, you gotta
promotion, you got sumthin' that's gonna make you
money.
"When it ain't done it don't matter if its half done or
nearly done or gonna get done someday - IT AIN'T DONE."
The volume reached the point where people in the hotel
next door started paying attention.
"And if it AIN'T DONE it's jack.
"DONE equals making money, sitting on the beach, taking
a long vacations and havin' fun.
"DONE equals a smiley face.
"AIN'T DONE equals nothin'. No product, no vacation, no
beach, no money and no fun.
"AIN'T DONE equals a sad face."
Marlon smiled and knew his point was made.
He said a whole lot more in four hours of sessions over
that weekend, but from that day forward the 35 people
there will always think in terms of DONE or AIN'T DONE.
Taken from Martin Avis
www.kickstartdaily.com newsletter.
Now, let me give you an
example, 6 days ago I went into a voice chat room I frequent on a regular
basis, with half an idea. I asked 2 people if they were interested in
developing that idea, and running a joint venture.
We brought a programmer in
on the idea, that made 4 partners. We have spent every waking hour
concentrating on it (and some hours where we shouldn't have been awake)
It's now 2 days way from launch.
But it's done, 8 days from
conception to completion.
Moral of both stories, mine and Marlons. Get an idea, dont sit on it.
Hire a programmer or bring
one in as a partner and get it built and working, apart from the original
idea, and some strategy input over the last week or so, I haven't had to
do any of the work to get this up and running. Win WIn
Oh yes the new project,
your curious
It's new resource for
