Hi

Ok, we have a lot to get through today :)

there is no guest article in this months issue because it would make an already long issue even longer and I don't want to bore you to death, or be responsible for you not getting any sleep. (ha ha)

Since the beginning of the year I have been tied down with the programmers for the new members area and a couple of other projects which are still ongoing, consequently this newsletter has not been up to its normal high standard.

Over the last 10 days or so, I have been searching around for new ways to promote and get traffic (which is what this newsletter is all about) I have found 3 very good programmes which I want to tell you guy's about.

First off though some words of wisdom, through out the 5 years I have been publishing Advertising Know-How I have tried to impress up on you 3 things that should be your main principles for success.

1. Choose the products you promote carefully, don't jump around from one "next best since sliced bread" program to another. Pick a good product and promote it over the long term.

2. Find a way to build your own opt in list, be it through a newsletter like this one or a membership site, or a forum. Anything a long as it gives value to those joining your list. I will say it again The money isn't in the secrets, the MLM's, the e-books, or anything else. The secret is just a fact!

YOU NEED A MAILING LIST!

3. Get your own site, promote your own product. Use affiliate schemes as a means to backend sales.

Some of the emails I got from you just prove that people are still making the same mistakes I did, so I will explain the "you must have your own website and product" Lesson with some figures.

The most common remarks in replies were, "why do I need to go to the expense of Paying for a domain name and hosting etc, when I can just send people to somebody else's web site and earn as much as they do from there products.

Ok lets shoot that old chestnut with these figures.

Now lets say you are an average affiliate and make five sales a day on 50% commission on a product costing £40.00 you make $100.00 a day, better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick as we say in the UK. But not a fortune, now let's say I have 100 affiliates 40 of which are average. That means I earn, without paying for advertising, or doing anything but checking my email everyday $4000.00 a day.

See the difference even if you have five other affiliate programs all earning you $100.00 dollars a day that's still only $500 and you have expenses like ads to pay for. And I also get the email address of your customers to sell my backend products to, all a bit one sided eh.

Perhaps now you will understand why I tell you to get your own website.

If you can generate the traffic to my site to make 5 sales a day you can generate the same traffic to your own product and keep all of it.

Alright How do you come up with a product, pay for programmers to build the site and still have some working capital to pay for promotion and traffic generation.

Answer is co-op with other people share the development cost, share the promotion costs by joining with other webmasters.

Co-op's allow you to pool your resources, I have been a webmaster for quite some time now and I have learned one thing. Programming and advertising is expensive. I try to do everything I can to reduce costs and still get quality every chance I get.

For example I use as many cooperatives as I can in my advertising so I get more out of every dollar I spend. In case you have never used a co-op for anything before it works like this. Many people pool their resources together to create a much larger pool of funds to buy advertising in bulk. That way each member of the cooperative gets more than they put in out of it. It makes a lot of sense, and I can control my costs much better.

The list builder in Advertising Know-How is a prime example of webmasters co-opting together and producing targeted subscribers to each publisher who takes part. When people club together the end result is always much greater than one person on their own can achieve.

The second hardest part about being a webmaster is purchasing the scripts that run my websites. A complicated site can cost thousands of dollars to have custom made. Alternatively I can use some hosted service that are out there, but they cost about a $1000 dollars a month as well.

I have found a website that does for programming what an advertising cooperative does for my bottom line, except I receive FULL WEBSITE scripts every single month.

The site is run by someone that knows the value that must be provided for a service. Stmapartner has hundreds of scripts and tools and it is very affordable. I am a member but it just isn't powerful enough for me. So I am really glad that STMA has come up with the unique concept in helping a small group of webmasters get very powerful scripts for a very low cost. So they have created a smaller more powerful network for those who want more. stmadeveloper.com

You will notice that there is no affiliate URL (just a tracking extension)  that's because there is no affiliate scheme. No need, any webmaster will know the value of what is being offered here, and its being kept to a small group so as not to devalue the scripts. (don't want hundreds of people selling these, the less competition the better)

Now this is important. They have been quietly letting a few people in for about 2 weeks. The price for the first month ($39.97) will be going up soon and I wanted to get those of you who were interested in before they do that.

I should mention that the price will go up EVERY MONTH to new members to keep things fair for the first members. The price for each following month is the same for every person. (it will always be 39,97 a month but as each month passes the joining fee will increase)

I see it this way. For a VERY small investment I am going to get some very high quality website scripts that I can either operate or resell. If you want to see the kind of value a complete website has go take a look here: buysellwebsite.com  Some of the sites there sell for 5 figures and upward.

In a nutshell if you can't make money off of a few dozen websites that you get for the cost of dinner per month you are missing out. If this is something you want to do in the future don't delay. stmadeveloper.com is very affordable right now. In 10 months it will cost you almost 400 dollars just to join

The next question is now you have an affordable means of creating new sites and products, how do you go about generating the traffic you need to make them profitable.

I don't have any new and earth shattering ways to generate traffic, but I do have a couple of good solid products in mind that will revolutionise the results from some of the tried and tested methods of traffic generation. And make your efforts much more efficient.

Search engine traffic is one of the more targeted means of generating sales, but is one of the most difficult methods to master. You need to be a damned genius or damned lucky to get good placement in google, unless you have the time and commitment to create hundreds of content laden pages that google can spider. The article submission service in Advertising Know-How is my attempt to achieve those content laden pages (so go add your articles to them now) :)

There are some very good software products that can create pages on the fly which will save you a great deal of time and effort, Ranking power is one but its very expensive at $197.00 (ok its not a credit card breaker, but I'm a mean so and so) and thankfully some of my programming friends have cloned ranking power for there own use. They were clever enough to be able to write their own software, that does exactly the same thing.

So I got them to offer it up for sale, (I wanted it for free but they told me to get lost, they said they liked me but not that much). They did however agree to sell it for a knockdown price. In fact they more than halved the cost to just $97.00. The site we tested this on went from complete obscurity to an alexa rating of under 10,000 in less than 3 months. And went from one or two sales per week, to nearly 500 sales a month. Not all from search engine generated traffic but it was the springboard - the remainder of the traffic is from affiliates promoting it.

Even if you only generate an extra couple of hundred extra bucks a month using it, your still ahead of the game at that price.

This is an affiliate url (I'm not stupid, just mean) but go take a look, there is a 60 day money back guarantee so just look at it as a no loss experiment. autoprofitgenerator.com

Now like I said I'm a mean sod, and I like anything that works for free just like the next man, and I am constantly looking out for little gems that work for free. And I found one.

Now normally I would say classified ads don't work well, you are usually tucked away in a corner with lots of other ads around you and you have to have a pretty strong headline to get any sort of response. but with US free ads you get a whole page to your self. You can write as long an add as you want, and the site is heavily spidered by google.

Your ad (if structured right, with a lot of key words in the ad) has a good chance of coming up in search engine results. Remember I said I was a cheap skate, well I paid the upgrade fee so I could get more ads on there. Its only $10 a year, and even a cheap skate like me couldn't find any excuse not to cough up the upgrade fee. As you can see there is an affiliate program, and one that is an easy sale, so jump on it. http://www.usfreeads.com

Phew, that was more typing than I have done in a month, my fingers are all worn down to little stubs. I gotta go lie down for an hour.

Don't forget to visit the new forum and let me know what you think of the
new design and the new members area, or even to just say hi. forum
