Super-affiliate tips & tricks.
Promoting affiliate programs can quickly become a great source of income
and a very profitable venture for you. Read this article carefuly as it
contains powerful tips & tricks that top affiliates use to kick their
monthly commissions into high gear.
Website promotion tips:
* Avoid the 'Cyber Flea-Market' syndrome.
Joining tons of affiliate programs and placing all their banners & ads on
your website makes you look unprofessional and visitors may think of you
as someone who is just trying to make a quick buck.
What you must do is join only one or two programs for high-quality
products or services that you have tried and can honestly recommend. Your
customers will appreciate this by giving you their trust and will be open
for further recommendations from you.
If you still feel you need to go crazy and promote several products at
once, use a banner rotator to display only one banner per page. Else you
risk completely destroying your credibility.
* Never try to hard-sell an affiliate product or service.
If you really want to start earning good commissions from the affiliate
programs you join, then you must understand that hard-selling is not the
way to go; this means that banners alone just won't do it, the best way to
make an affiliate sale is to 'romance' your visitors into it...
This can be done by writing a product review, a personal endorsement or an
article related to the topic or niche you are targeting and posting it on
your website. Give your visitors good information and they'll consider you
an expert on the subject... and of course, they'll be much more open to
your suggestions or recommendations.
When you're writing the article or product review keep this in mind: The
idea is not to sell, the idea is to get the prospect interested enough to
go visit a website (a much easier task). Consider banners and other
affiliate graphics as good re-inforcements for your message.
E-mail promotion tips:
* Advertise only to legitimate sources.
E-mail advertising works like a charm... but only when you advertise to
legitimate sources (like your own mailing list or when you purchase a
classified ad in a newsletter).
The most common mistake in e-mail marketing right now is falling into the
"Buying opt-in leads" trap. The concept itself is an oxymoron and negates
the true nature of a true opt-in.
Imagine it this way... you are surfing the web and you sign up to receive
an offer about a specific product (or to get one ezine), and the next
thing you know is that your in-box is being flooded by all sorts of offers
coming from many different places. You would instantly categorize it as
SPAM... so please don't kill your own business by doing this!
* Write your own endorsement
If you have a maling list or run an e-zine of your own, the best way to go
about promoting affiliate programs is to write your very own endorsement
about the service.
Your subscribers know you and appreciate it when they hear from you on a
more personal level... use this to your advantage and spread the word
about your chosen affiliate program. The rewards of doing this are huge.
* Use the power of repetition...
Marketing studies have proven a lot of times that most people won't buy a
product when they first hear it mentioned... they need to hear about it up
to 7 times before the bulk of them make their purchasing decision.
If you are going to use e-zines (for example), place an ad in one and
measure how many sales you got from it. If you got some sales from that
first ad, it means that an equal number (or more) will come in from a
second ad on that same e-zine. This also gives you bargaining power with
the e-zine owners - just tell them that you want to buy sequential ads on
their publication and ask for a special pricing.
Traffic driving tricks:
* Go beyond the usual stuff.
If you trully want to succeed in affiliate marketing you need to go beyond
the usual promotion methods. Get creative and try to find leads in places
other than your website or ezines... Pay-per-click search engines have
proven to be one of the best methods to find targeted visitors for only
pennies per click.

Classified advertising:
Now normally I would say classified ads don't work well, you are usually
tucked away in a corner with lots if other ads around you and you have to
have a pretty strong headline to get any sort of response. but with US
free ads you get a whole page to your self. You can write as long an add
as you want, and the site is heavily spidered by google.
Your ad (if structured right, with a lot of key words in the ad) has a
good chance of coming up in search engine results. Remember I said I was a
cheap skate, well I paid the upgrade fee so I could get more ads on there.
Its only $10 a year, and even a cheap skate like me couldn't find any
excuse not to cough up the upgrade fee. As you can see there is an
affiliate program, and one that is an easy sale, so jump on it.
